My name is Anna. I made this website in English, because Mikhail Gorsheniov had a hope for singing Korol i Shut in English, but he passed away too soon. He wished he could speak English, but he was the main composer. The poet has often been Andrei Knyazev. Gorshok created the whole atmosphere of Korol i Shut - its jolly mystics and honest, childlike kindness, with tears and smile on the face! Gorshok the leader was the soul of Korol i Shut. He lived it throughout himself. Korol i Shut possesses the depth of the Russian national identity, but their art belongs to humanity. The magic, deep baritone of Gorshok makes the points reach to our hearts directly and stipulates the uniqueness of Korol i Shut as punk rock - the horror-art-baritone punk! This is beautifully complex. The least I can do in gratitude is to translate their messages and attach links to their songs, found online.

If you are not a professional translator, trained in lyrical stylizations, it may be hard to deliver the layers of meanings, with which Korol i Shut is so incredibly rich. They are Russian "skomorokhs", "medieval weasels", who do not feel the presence of time, and, thus, eternal. Simultaneously, they are deeply sarcastic, socially and self-critical, in intelligent horror-story disguise, just in time. The beauty of Korol i Shut is patterned, systemic, full of interrelationships. We, Russians, feel fine to laugh at ourselves. We "code" our points in our sophisticated language, so that it is only we, who can enjoy. However, the Russian classics belong to everyone, just like the heritage of P. Tchaikovsky, M. Glinka, S. Rachmaninov, I. Stravinsky, S. Prokofiev, D. Shostakovich, A. Pushkin, A. Chekhov, I. Turgenev, N. Gogol, L. Tolstoy, N. Nekrasov, M. Lermontov, S. Yesenin and, of course, M. Bulgakov. Korol i Shut must be in this list, continuing it with the names of Mikhail Gorsheniov and Andrei Knyazev.

Korol i Shut has been an emergent necessity for us: generations have grown up on their messages. We all have become even better, thanks to our punks. I am not a translator, but I am a young scientist: I love Complexity Science and I also have ideas about tools for better forms of social organization. I do also believe that the society may self-organize, be there culture and collective intelligence. I have always loved Scandinavian black and death metal - it is musically advanced and atmospheric, but my soul recognizes the role of Korol i Shut with their unique approach to hearts, as, in fact, flagship in causing the positive change of mind in people. I believe that Korol i Shut have become much more than their "teachers", from whom the band learned how to play and tell things. Korol i Shut are diverse in their music - Gorshok was a musical "scientist" and experimenter.

I hope that this website will draw international attention to Korol i Shut, and we will be able to "decode" their messages in the layers of originality and compositional beauty. Having Korol i Shut being called "iconic" and "number one in Russia" on Internet imposes an expectation on us, listeners, to inform the general public and help everyone, who is proud of Korol i Shut, to show for their international friends how great the band is, and everyone, who is curious - to understand the entire depth of the band's atmosphere. I hope that technologies shall soon allow generation of intelligent translations in original voices and musical compositional beauty, and the whole world will sing along Korol i Shut with us! If you are skilled to help me with making the translations melodic, then feel free to contact me. Let us together tell for the world about the genius and the magic of Korol i Shut.
