1987-ETERNITY
RUSSIAN HORROR PUNK
The horror of the dying Soviet got picked up by the emerging horror punk. Energy of millions of young people got positively directed towards the rock music. Saint Petersburg became the capital of Russian rock. It happened, when a tall, gifted boy Mikhail Gorsheniov entered a high school of reconstruction, where he met his best friends, including Andrei Knyazev. They created a punk-rock band, which even managed to rehearse in the basements of the State Hermitage Museum! Nevertheless, they decided to leave the reconstruction school.
Punk rock, on behalf of Korol i Shut, for the first time ever collected a stadium – in 1999. Since then, this genre has never left it. That boy and his friends became immortal. The songs of Korol i Shut are always amusing and complete narratives, inspired of the folklore genre “bylichka”: a story of an “eyewitness” about meeting an otherworldly spirit. Also, the musicians loved mysticism in Anglo-Saxon literature. The culmination of each story by Korol i Shut comes with a moral conclusion: do not steal, do not cheat, beware of fake smiles, respect the nature, be trustworthy, value friendship, go for your experiments, be brave, dream carefully, tell what you have to...
