EXPERIMENTAL PUNK
“I have heard that if you turn on rock, then plants begin to fade, and if you turn on classical symphonic music, the plants immediately blossom. And if you turn on Korol i Shut, then ficus starts to dance. One, who loves rock, has the ficus growing well!"
Gorshok claimed always that he played rock’n’roll, although he has always been a true punk in his heart and in ours. He loved combinations, and his inspiration used to come from English classical literature and the historical works of revolutionaries. He believed in anarchy, but not as a mess, but as a form of social self-organization, based on collective awareness, high level of culture and mutual respect.
The punk encouraged people, especially young, to read books and listen to “the” good music, which is rock’n’roll, because it is the brightest and purest form of music. He disliked Dostoyevsky, because he believed that Dostoyevsky had been too gloomy – Gorshok encouraged us to laugh. He was "the" Jester and "the" King.
He lived with his heart open, but he could always stay on his principles. One fine day, Korol i Shut invented Russian art punk, when the explorative nature of Gorshok imagined for himself, how rock'n'roll would have sounded, be it the nineteenth century...
