Fred was clearing his draw-well, and, in muddy water, he found a skeleton in girl’s dress. For some reason - that's the question why - he took it home. In the morning, the troubles began - his legs became paralyzed.

Poor Fred went mad with grief soon and began to call his find “fate”.

Fred would have starved to death, if not his neighbor, who were sending his wife to bring him food. And his wife told him back: “Fred sits before that skeleton, communicates with it, stupid, as if the skeleton was alive. And then he even hid these bones, so that I could not see them! That’s the case!”
