"Leshij Has Got Offended" [1996] (Leshij is a forest guardian, named Silvan in English)
Song: Knyazev (text), Gorsheniov (music, lead vocal)
In the night forest a fire was burning, and, by the fire, there sat a tired sweet grandpa: touched his mustache ... and talked quietly to himself...
At that moment, there sounded a scream - and, on having grabbed a cudgel, the old man rushed to the call. A young man lied in bushes, writhing from pain and staring around, and trembling in fear:
- Grandfather, dear, save me! My foot got stuck in a trap! - But why, in response, the grandpa furrowed his eyebrows? The old man furrowed his eyebrows severely!…
The old man ... replied: You caused me a serious offense. How did you dare to walk into my forest tonight? And so shamelessly forget about the creepy Silvan?!
- Grandfather, dear, save me! My foot got stuck in a trap! - But why, in response, the grandpa furrowed his eyebrows? The old man furrowed his eyebrows severely!…
- Death awaits you since you met me! No beast lives long on having been caught in my trap!
The young man jumped up and ran away - wildly yelling, cursing the night! He ran and fell, tore the clothes, got up and ran again - ran with the trap on his leg - right up HOME!
Possible interpretation: Although the forest spirit may be known for being scary, he is probably a human-like creature seeking a company and not really willing to eat anyone! Our Slavic otherworldly natural spirits are kind.
