"The Drevlians remember bitterly..." [2000] (The Drevlians were one of the Slavic nations
Song: Knyazev (text), Gorsheniov (music, lead vocal)
Many years have passed, but the Drevlians remember bitterly about the romantic Demian, whose skeleton lies in the forest. Sadly, no one believes him, though his epics about a fairy, the Lady of the Flies, were breathtaking.
The romantic was full of passion and love for this fairy. He wished to express his feelings for her; to express his feelings!
Every time, when he saw the fairy, he began to swear, “I would pay with my life for your love!” All the people got amazed as they found out that Demian began to worship flies at the fairy’s will!
The romantic made an idol in the ravine and was bringing sacrifices!
The romantic was full of passion and love for this fairy. He wished to express his feelings for her; to express his feelings!
Ah, people, we should have worshiped flies rather than pagan gods! Before I fell in love with the fairy, brothers, I was hopeless, in fact.
The romantic did not know, though, that she was not made for loving, and he was not sinless himself – he used to kill flies sometimes.
Flies flew on him from all sides, and he was ritually eaten...
