"The Gardener" [1996]

Song: Knyazev (text), Gorsheniov (music, lead vocal)

For the whole day, a young man has been having no peace from his sisters:

"Would you, - they say, - go to the others’ garden sometimes at night? That gardener, who lives near the forest, has such a wonderful garden!”

And the man decided here: "Fine, I will go to the garden, otherwise these women will drive me mad and won’t leave me alone anyway.”

As it turned one o’clock, he took a knife and went out - to collect flowers under the cover of darkness in the others’ garden!

"You, brother! Would you go to the stranger’s garden? Pick flowers and bring them home! Brother, could you go to the stranger’s garden and bring here the stranger’s flowers?”

An hour passed, another passed – the brother did not come back. The sisters began to worry: how long shall they wait for their brother?

It is dawning outside, but the brother is not yet back. As the cocks crowed, the sisters heard steps at the door!

"You, brother, would you go to the stranger’s garden? Pick flowers and bring them home! Brother, could you go to the stranger’s garden and bring here the stranger’s flowers?”

With a huge smile on his face, the gardener entered the house: he put a bouquet of flowers on the table and disappeared, wordless.

The sisters opened the bouquet and looked at the flowers – the head of their brother lay among the flowers! AAAaaaaaaaaaa!!!

"You, brother, would you go to the stranger’s garden? Pick flowers and bring them home! Brother, could you go to the stranger’s garden and bring here the stranger’s flowers?”
